Do these shoes, probably impossible to run in, represent an evolution in function, or a regression? The extension and repetition seen in Sato’s works challenge the meaning and image of the objects in question. These “shoes of Genesis” are the wings of Nike the goddess of victory; running and kicking balls on ground not yet solidified, jumping higher than anyone.
