Distortion, lagging, phasing: try to imagine the kind of tones that would emerge from this unknown musical instrument with its forest of shields. Yoshihiko Sato’s works include the well-known 12-necked guitar, stretched-out Honda scooter, and athletic shoes with 30cm spikes. All the components are genuine. About Yoshihiko SaitoYoshihiko Saito
Born 1968, raised in Saitama Prefecture.
MFA 1993 in Sculpture from Tokyo University of the Arts.
Makes unusual sculptures by projecting his own ideas onto the design elements of products, in arrangements that amplify/propagate their forms.
Winner of the Best Work Award at the 2002 Kirin Art Awards, and Semi-Grand Prize at the 6th Spiral Independent Creators Festival in 2005.
