Mitamura’s “Before the Daybreak” series revolves around a video taken by the artist of the Fontana di Bacchino fountain sculpture that fascinated her on a visit to the provincial Italian city of Prato. “Before the Daybreak” is an installation with photos of the city’s streetscapes on the wall, and shoes, mirrors, books and so on scattered about the space. Before the Daybreak #bag takes an image of flowers in a shop window that is part of the installation, and turns it into a bag form with a stunning black and white photograph.
