Latent excess of the everyday and chandelier
Lighting work combining fluorescent tubes and LED lamps of various shapes and sizes, that emits an extraordinary amount of light. The cables for the stabilizers attached to the tubes form a bundle that extends up to the wiring board on the wall like a white snake. Yuichi Higashionna takes ordinary items—familiar, ubiquitous things from daily life—and turns them into different beasts entirely. “Uncanny thing” > “Not uncanny thing” = “Familiar thing” (From the artist’s statement)
